Düsseldorf, February 3, 2025 – On January 30, 2025, Heramba GmbH, Düsseldorf, formally filed for insolvency. Today, the company made the senior management team of KIEPE, Düsseldorf, aware of this development. Heramba GmbH holds a majority 85% stake in Kiepe Electric GmbH, a global supplier of electric drive systems and solutions for trains, buses and charging infrastructure. KIEPE’s management team emphasized that Kiepe Electric GmbH – which is independently managed, with its own financial accounting and reporting systems – is not impacted by this news and will continue to run its business operations as usual, unaffected by Heramba GmbH’s insolvency. All current contracts will be fulfilled as scheduled.

Alexander Ketterl, CEO of Kiepe Electric GmbH: “Heramba GmbH informed us today that it has filed for insolvency. Even so, we can confirm that Kiepe Electric will fulfill all existing commitments. We’re fully operational, we continue to supply our products, and we’ll continue to run our business operations as usual, in close collaboration with our customers and partners and with Heramba’s insolvency administrator going forward. I am confident that our dedicated employees will deal with the situation with their characteristic composure and professionalism.”

Because Heramba acted as KIEPE’s holding company, the KIEPE management team does not anticipate any far-reaching impact on the company’s business or various projects, either for KIEPE’s head office in Düsseldorf or its international companies.

KIEPE drew up a clear strategy and business plan for the company’s future some time ago, and will continue to implement it. This applies to KIEPE’s well-established Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) business as well as KIEPE’S clearly defined positioning and the associated organizational development, especially in the e-mobility market. KIEPE has focused specifically on this sector, with a steadily growing components business, digital service offerings, and a newly established business unit specializing in high-performance charging systems for buses, special-purpose vehicles and rail vehicles.
