LED Retrofit at Wiener Linien
Wiener Linien continues its energy-saving initiatives by converting its entire vehicle fleet to LED technology.
KIEPE Electric's Austrian branch has been commissioned to carry out the retrofit, which includes over 300 ULF trams, 220 vehicles of the old U11 subway, 41 trains of the Type V subway, and the vehicles of the U6 line – T and T1.
Within 1.5 years, more than 26,000 fluorescent tubes will be replaced with energy-efficient LED lights. The LED lights are provided by Wiener Linien. The conversion is scheduled to run until the end of 2025.
