Auxiliary Power Converter BNU 600
Compact and powerful on-board power supply for urban transport vehicles

Technical Description
The BNU 600 series represents the 6th generation of the KIEPE´s auxiliary power supply which has been continuously improved for over 35 years. These power converters use cost-effective and service proven IGBT technology. Thanks to a patented circuit design in combination with modern control technology, a power density and efficiency is achieved, which is comparable to silicon carbide auxiliary power systems currently available on the market for railway applications.
The modular design featuring reduced module dimensions and high efficiency makes the BNU 600 especially attractive for retrofit projects. The complete device or individual inverter modules can be upgraded to the BNU 600 series.
Highlights
- High power density comparable to SiC-technology due to patented circuit design
- Parallel synchronized operation on 3AC-busbar
- Fully loadable neutral conductor
- Self-start function in case of a dead battery
- Fulfills EMC requirements for bus and rail
- Modular system with independent 3AC and DC power modules ideal for new and retrofit projects
